KEVLAR FIBRE

TECHNOFABRIC: CUSTOM PRODUCTION OF CUT-RESISTANT, FIRE PROOF, PROTECTIVE, BULLETPROOF KEVLAR FIBRE FABRIC

Kevlar® is a synthetic aramid fibre discovered by accident in the 1960s by a DuPont researcher. Yellow in colour, it is extremely light, durable and strong

Kevlar® is fortified with a very high mechanical resistance to traction. At equal weight, it is about 5 times stronger than steel. In addition, it is resistant to heat, flames, impact and vibrations. Technofabric produces Kevlar® para-aramid fabric to customer specifications, for use in the field of safety and individual protection (bullet-resistant and cut-proof items) or for industrial use.

THE MAIN CHARACTERISTICS OF KEVLAR FOR INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS

The main characteristics of Kevlar include very high tensile strength, superior to that of steel, low density, high resistance to abrasion and corrosion, great thermal and chemical stability, and high flame resistance.

Kevlar is also known for its resistance to folds and breaks, making it ideal for the production of fabrics for industrial applications. It is often used in applications where cut-resistant properties are required, such as in cable sheaths and ropes, or in applications where high temperature resistance is required, such as in thermal protection materials.

Kevlar also has high resistance to chemical agents and solvents, making it suitable for the production of products for the chemical, pharmaceutical, and petrochemical industries.

Kevlar fiber is a high-strength synthetic material that has a wide range of industrial applications thanks to its exceptional mechanical properties, flame and chemical resistance, and its ability to maintain its properties at extreme temperatures.

KEVLAR ® FABRIC - APPLICATIONS

Kevlar® by DuPont can be utilised in the production of clothing, accessories and devices related to safety as well as bullet-resistant and cut-proof protection.

Its extreme resistance finds application, for example, in the bulletproof Kevlar® fabric used for vests capable of absorbing the kinetic energy of bullets or for certain military helmets. Other common uses for DuPont’s Kevlar® are occupational accident-prevention garments, motorcyclists’ technical gear, industrial equipment or products for the nautical sector. Specifically, the main applications of Kevlar ® fiber are:
