Polyester fabrics for screen printing frames
Technofabric: Custom production of Polyester fabrics

Polyester is a synthetic fiber made by the polymerization of monomers based on adipic acid and hexamethylenediamine, or caprolactam. Polyester is the abbreviated name for an artificial synthetic polymer, polyethylene terephthalate. The abbreviation for polyester is PL.
To produce polyester, two main steps are followed: synthesis and spinning. In synthesis, monomer molecules are associated with each other through chemical reactions, forming solid materials called chips. In spinning, the chips are melted or dissolved and passed through spinners, resulting in polyester yarns or fibers.
Some technical characteristics of Polyester fabrics for screen printing frames are:
Polyester is a synthetic fiber obtained from the polycondensation of a carboxylic acid and an alcohol, specifically polyethylene terephthalate (PET).
This fabric has high resistance to wear, tensile strength, chemicals and water. It is also lightweight, elastic, creaseable and easy to maintain.
This fabric has a low melting point (about 220°C) and high linear thermal expansion. This makes it suitable for applications that require good adaptability to temperature changes.
This fabric has low hygroscopicity (absorbs little moisture) and fast drying. This makes it ideal for moisture-deficient or high mechanical stress environments.
Polyester has good dielectric properties and electrical resistivity. This makes it suitable for applications requiring good electrical insulation.
Properties that distinguish polyester fabric from other types of prints are:
Permeography: this is a printing process that relies on waterproofing certain areas of the fabric so that an ink can pass through the free fabric and transfer to the surface to be printed. Polyester fabric is used as a matrix or printing form, stretched over a metal or wooden frame.
Photo emulsion: this is a photosensitive resin that is applied to the polyester fabric and then exposed to ultraviolet light with a photographic film that reproduces the graphic to be printed. Exposed areas harden, while unexposed areas remain water-soluble and can be removed with water, leaving the fabric free for printing.
The squeezer or squeegee: this is a bar with a rubber or plastic edge that rests on the ink placed on top of the polyester fabric and presses it through the free fabric toward the surface to be printed, by a sliding motion. This action can be repeated several times to achieve greater colour definition and intensity.
Technofabric S.p.A. is a textile company specialized in the production of a wide range of fabrics for industrial and technical applications. Our strength is vertical integration, which means that we have control over the entire production process, from yarn production to the creation of finished fabrics. This allows us to maintain high quality standards and provide customized solutions to our customers.
Technofabric works with various types of yarn, including aramid, nylon, high tenacity polyester, carbon, and cotton. Each type of yarn has its own unique properties and applications, and Technofabric exploits these materials to create fabrics with specific characteristics and performance. Technofabric's expertise lies in turning ideas into functional, high-performance fabrics. We have the ability to develop tailor-made fabrics to meet customers' particular needs, whether it be durability, strength, flexibility or otherwise.
In addition to their technical capabilities, Technofabric prioritises the value it provides the customer. We are committed to understanding their needs and goals, and then creating fabrics that not only meet those requirements but also exceed expectations in terms of quality, performance, and reliability.
